Weddings are a joyful occasion and we couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day for this enchanting couple. Our Congratulations to Michael & Erika Womack it was our pleasure to share your special day! Yours in Service, Bernie, Chef Monda and Staff
New to Bernie's @ NVGH starting on Tuesday March 17, 2015 from 2-5 pm
This is a wonderful way to welcome in spring, ease into summer and usher in fall for 2015.... We invite you to come in for a glass of wine, sample some plates and enjoy the view.
There is NOTHING stuffy about this Tapas time - it is the epitome of the laid back Sautee lifestyle that us locals love to live. Casual and relaxing with a little something delicious to enjoy alone or with friends.
When the sun is shining Valley Tapas will be happening - So relax at one of our tables on the back deck or even bring a blanket to eat "al fresco."
In addition to this menu there will also be featured traditional Tapas offered weekly. Children are welcome to run and play in the backyard. During inclement weather Tapas will still be available inside.
Prices are right from $4 to $15 for plates and even better Select Wine & Beer for $5
Looking forward to seeing you soon! Yours in Service, Monda
The possibilities are endless at Bernie's. Our place provides an elegant backdrop for your special day. We hear over and over again from our Brides, Grooms and their families how relaxed and comfortable they feel, and how the warm, personable yet professional service we provide enhances their day. Truly making it a day of happiness and joy to remember. It allows them to enjoy each other - which in our opinion, is what a wedding should be all about.
There are several things that are rewarding when you have a business for 25 years.
At Bernie's we have shared many memories and meals, we strive to create an environment for wonderful times and in our community, which we love, to be the place to go.....
For those of you who have been our customers for many years, you have seen the changes that have taken place , but the fundamental idea of a comfortable table, delicious food and welcoming atmosphere have never changed.
This idea is the foundation of Bernie's Restaurant @ Nacoochee Valley Guest House. For those of you who do not remember...The business was named all those years ago when locals would say "Let's go to Bernie's" Even then people knew they would walk into a place where the smells of whatever was cooking in the kitchen would welcome them as soon as they walked in the door and a friendly smile and more often a hug would be shared.
Spring has always been an inspiration to those who live and work in "The Valley" and here at Bernie's we have taken advantage of the cold Winter months and have embraced the new beginnings of Spring on the way. A creative storm has been taking place inside our beloved cottage, in more ways than one. Many of you have been coming in and have seen the progress, and have shared in our excitement as we have been making these changes.
All of our staff have gotten a case of Spring Fever - in the best of ways. It has been a group effort. The seeds of an idea have grown into a beautiful enhancement to our familiar landmark. All of the staff members have participated in these changes. Bernie had ideas, we put the men of our family to work on construction. Heather has lovingly (until the wee hours) painted several rooms and brought out a rich ambiance for your visual pleasure. Shanna and Tabitha have organized, streamlined and recreated the dining areas - elegant but not overdone. Monda in usual fashion is thinking of new dishes, new concepts to add for your dining enjoyment, and the driving force behind it all.
At Bernie's we are ready for Spring!! Thank you for sharing your moments with us, we look forward to seeing all of you over the next few months.
The leaves are changing and the weather is beautiful.....it is a perfect time for reflection....
We are pleased to announce our 25th Anniversary Birthday!
Bernie and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our wonderful customers who have "Entered as Strangers and Left as Friends" We consider it a blessing to be a part of your lives.
As her daughter, I have worked (and argued) by her side for many years. It never ceases to amaze me what a warm and giving woman she is. The building and business that carry her namesake have been infused over the years with her passion. Everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her is enchanted and entertained. I would like to pay tribute to her, and you, our customers - and let you know how much it means to BOTH of us that we have been privileged to share so many memories with all of you.
We have had the privilege to see the first dates, that led to engagements, that led to marriages. We have shared celebrating many wonderful Anniversaries that have had many of you returning time and again - bringing your beautiful babies for Bernie to see. And we have had the special honor of sharing your grief, and saying goodbye to those we have also come to love. I know in this day and age, where everything seems to move so fast - and many want it quick - it is a rare thing indeed to walk into a business where you are recognized, and greeted with true, warm hospitality. It is a special gift, both for the one offering it and those of you who are willing to accept it. And yet, in our small little corner of the world that is exactly what we strive to do. How wonderful it is to know we have created a place that is familiar and welcoming - and every one of you has made our lives that much richer - because you walked thru our doors and have shared your lives with us.
It may sound strange, but I have always considered our little business so much more than "a restaurant". All because of one little woman who has worked tireless long hours, laughed much - and loved in abundance - ALL of you who have come to be nourished in our small community and beyond, you have made us wealthy - by sharing so much of yourselves with us, over a meal cooked with love.
We thank you for your gifts and blessings over these many years.
In closing, I promise to carry on the tradition of customers "Entering as Strangers leaving as Friends" A fine legacy, a gift from my mother....But of course you all just know and love her as Bernie.

"We came to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We left thinking we must have died and gone to married folks heaven. Where else could you dine on a fine supper ten feet from your bedroom suite? And where else could you wake up to a beautiful view and the smell of a delicious breakfast wafting into the room? We felt very much at home here, Bernie. Thanks for assisting us in creating some wonderful memories."
Love and Best Wishes, Julie & Steven C. _________________ "Another wonderful Thanksgiving. We love the “homey” atmosphere and the great food."
