25th Anniversary Birthday!
Bernie and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our wonderful customers who have "Entered as Strangers and Left as Friends" We consider it a blessing to be a part of your lives.
As her daughter, I have worked (and argued) by her side for many years. It never ceases to amaze me what a warm and giving woman she is. The building and business that carry her namesake have been infused over the years with her passion. Everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her is enchanted and entertained. I would like to pay tribute to her, and you, our customers - and let you know how much it means to BOTH of us that we have been privileged to share so many memories with all of you.
We have had the privilege to see the first dates, that led to engagements, that led to marriages. We have shared celebrating many wonderful Anniversaries that have had many of you returning time and again - bringing your beautiful babies for Bernie to see. And we have had the special honor of sharing your grief, and saying goodbye to those we have also come to love.
I know in this day and age, where everything seems to move so fast - and many want it quick - it is a rare thing indeed to walk into a business where you are recognized, and greeted with true, warm hospitality. It is a special gift, both for the one offering it and those of you who are willing to accept it. And yet, in our small little corner of the world that is exactly what we strive to do. How wonderful it is to know we have created a place that is familiar and welcoming - and every one of you has made our lives that much richer - because you walked thru our doors and have shared your lives with us.
It may sound strange, but I have always considered our little business so much more than "a restaurant". All because of one little woman who has worked tireless long hours, laughed much - and loved in abundance - ALL of you who have come to be nourished in our small community and beyond, you have made us wealthy - by sharing so much of yourselves with us, over a meal cooked with love.
We thank you for your gifts and blessings over these many years.
In closing, I promise to carry on the tradition of customers "Entering as Strangers leaving as Friends" A fine legacy, a gift from my mother....But of course you all just know and love her as Bernie.
Yours in Service,
